The people who are in the safe list does not know the members but can be assured that the mail received from such people in safe and can be opened and read.
The business people tend to earn from them as you can send commercial advertisements through the safe list to the various individuals.

The main problem with this type of mail is everyone receives it but no one ever opens to read them. The members usually sign up so that they themselves can send such emails. Which results in many email id but not one give a glance and reads them.

If you want to join the club you will be better off making your own email list with your own clients who have subscribed to your product earlier or their reference. It will be better as you will be targeting your own clients instead of sending email to safe list members who may not be opening their emails.
